I understand from Gayle Mills that you are coordinating the drafting of a cover letter of support from Senator Specter for the Lauxmont – Susquehanna Riverlands Preservation Project to accompany the letter of support to Governor Rendell signed by the York County state legislative delegation (please see electronic version attached).
I’ve attached the Susquehanna Riverlands Preservation Project summary fact sheet as well as the federal appropriation request that Senator Specter is supporting to provide some background to assist in the drafting of the letter. The letter is to be drafted as a joint letter from Senator Specter AND Congressman Todd Platts. I’ve copied Bob Reilly, Congressman Platts’ district director, (phone 600-1919) on the email so that if you have any question you can follow-up with him.
Once the letter from Senator Specter and Congressman Platts is written and signed, Please let me know so that I can ensure that letter is presented to the Governor with the York County delegation’s letter (currently with State Senator Waugh’s office). Time is critical here and we are hoping to have the letter from your office and the Congressman’s by the end of the week so that we can have both letters to the Governor by COB Friday or first thing Monday.
